Scanpan Classic Ceramic Titanium 11-Inch Nonstick Square Griddle

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Bottom line? This pan does exactly what it says it does. The first time I used it, I was a bit worried because the fried egg seemed to stick, but what I learned was that you have to wait just a few extra seconds of cook time than you would think before turning the egg to get it to flip easily. After that use, I haven't had any issues with anything sticking. It cleans off easily with water immediately after use and if I let it set with some food goo on it for a while, it still cleans off just as easily. Using metal utensils work the best for getting under things and they do leave a slight scratched look to the surface, but it doesn't affect the function of the pan. I never set it above medium. The heat distribution is wonderfully even. The bottom of this pan is actually a round piece of the compressed aluminum. I plan to buy more pans. I can see this lasting for many years!

Best Pan Ever!
Scanpan is the best pan I have ever used. It needs very little to no oil at all, even at higher temperatures. No problem using your old utensils with these pans, unlike teflon, they are virtually scratch proof. Scanpan is the only kind I will ever purchase in the future, and is the only one that I can truely recommend.

Now I'm cookin'
This is a great griddle! Pricey but worth it for its high quality, healthier non-stick, and easy cleaning. I also have the 12-1/2" fry pan which replaced an older Scanpan model that lasted for many years without warping. Highly recommended.

ScanPan Griddle
Lighter than iron but just as good for pancakes when you need a hot griddle.

Anolon 81615 Titanium 10-Piece Nonstick Cookware Set

So, I just bought the ten piece set to replace many of these given to me 8 years ago. I did so as the Titanium has been discontinued, and I am not really keen on the new styles.

That said, these are 6-7 year pans. I used the Titanium pans heavily during that time, often under high heat - only in the last couple years I would say the pan has become no more really than the other pans I have which are mediocre at best. The pots still look very good - but one tends not to use under the same heat etc. I expect the pots will be around in another 8 years, without much change, so I am pleased with the addition of a few more to allow for the bigger collection.

So, lets discuss the pans. They represent only TWO of the 10 pieces here, so, take that for what you will. Honestly, I will likely buy some additional pans as backup and to reduce the heavy load - maybe these will last longer as I have also become a better cook (i.e. don't need to cook so hot anymore). That said, they withstand a lot of abuse well, but will not hold their appearance on the exterior all that long (not buying for the cosmetics). As well, the smallest of the pans is misbalanced, and with nothing in the pan, will not sit flat - silly error in design.

The surface is fantastic however, and held up well against some high end Calphalon purchased at the same time. I appreciate the dishwasher ability (only time to time... most of the time, you should clean it yourself).

All in all, a good buy. At 6 items (does anyone really care about lids? I have some glass lids that seem to fit about everything, so I don't bother with the included lids) for 0, it comes in at a pop. Pretty decent, and frankly, for /yr based on the lifetime I expect from the most heavily used pan, I am quite happy.

Love the Stuff!!
I purchased this cookware for my husband (yes, he is the cook in our family). He really enjoys this particular cookware. I downloaded and emailed him numerous reviews/pictures of cookware before he decided on the Anolon set. The only issue I have is you have to be careful with the dishwasher detergent that you use, it must be phosphate free, but other than that, this cookware is fabulous! Nothing sticks to it!!

Best set of pots I have ever purchased
This is the first time I have ever purchased the Anolon set. I have been cooking with it for over a month and I must say that I am very satisfied with the way it cooks. The food cooks evenly and the pots are easy to clean afterwards.
The only issue I had were removing the stickers from the bottom of each of the pans prior to use. I tried soaking overnight but it still did not come up easily. I was forced to use elbow grease to slowly but surely remove it bit by bit. For a set this size, it was quite labor intensive process.

Fine if you get a low price
I purchased these after several friend seemed happy with it. I bought them for a very good price (not what I see today) and figured I'd upgrade from my Revere stainless. Frankly, I wish I'd kept my Revere cookware. The saucepans chipped on the exterior edges within months after buying the set. The way the brand is promoted, I expected better durability. I also don't find that the handles, particularly the lids, are cool enough to handle without using a towel or mitt. The dark color does hide stains which is a good thing since I can't always get drip marks off the pans.

The non-stick coating works very well. I haven't has any problems other than occasional soap spotting. Sometimes it just doesn't look clean even though I know it has been washed. I always hand wash.

These pots and pans are great if you want something easy to clean and lightweight (compared to other cookware). We cook fairly lightly so my set will probably last longer than other commenters here. I'm still a little paranoid about the whole Teflon issue so I'm slowly moving to stainless cookware when there are good sales on brands such as All-Clad.

Overall, I gave it a medium rating since they perform well and I got a really good price for the set. Had I paid more, I might lower my rating.

Nice everyday cookware
This is my second set. I cook a lot and I am not at all careful with the cookware. I dishwashe these pots frequently and don't seem to have problems at all. I also cannot think that I had any problems with handles being worm, unless used in the oven. Being able to put them in an oven is a great plus. I am happy with the non-stick. Any problems were caused by rough use. All pots are in great shape give or take a few surface scratches on the outside, pans I need to replace due to the rough handling. I would expect to use this set for a period of 5-10 years depending on amount of use, handling and tolerance older appearance.

Bayou Favorites
A culinary history of Southern Louisiana's favorite and most satisfying reciepes ever placed on a table.

the quality is not worth of the money
I've heard the great reputation of this Calphalon One nonstick 13-inch deep skillet with glass lid and bought this before christmas at 0. The skillet looks well built, and it is very balanced while I hold it in hand. I always use wood or bamboo utensil in cooking and use its soft side of sponge for washing. however, in less than one month, I've seen several permanent scratches in the skillet, which totally disappoints me. I would have not bought this skillet if I have known the non-stick surface is as fragile as other brands. So my opinion to this skillet: if you are looking for a durable non-stick skillet, don't buy this one for its appearance. Anyone who has good experience with durable nonstick skillet, please feel free to make recommendation. Thanks.

gift
I gave this as a gift. The new owner is very pleased with the skillet.

Matfer Exopat 11-5/8-by-16-3/8-Inch Nonstick Baking Sheet

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

In this two chef household, we've used silicone sheets for years. I have used another brand but wanted to have a few extra so that when I am baking, even if I don't have extra cookie sheets, I can put all my dough on these then just slide them on the pan when I take another batch out of the oven.

I have been making lots of whoopie pies and cookies lately and it's exceptional how silicone sheets work. I like these since they are a bit thinner than my former silicone sheets. Items come off your cookie sheets so easy that you can literally lift up a cookie without a spatula..just pick it up with your hands. No spraying with cooking spray, no cookie sheets to watch afterwards...just run under water to remove any crumbs.

For us there have been no drawbacks. Cookies spread the same, taste the same, but remove more easily so I have 6 silicone sheets I keep on hand. These fit a typical sized cookie sheet.
