Sony 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera
Tuesday, March 31st, 2009All the professional reviews that I've read for this lens have been spectacular, and I concur. For someone new to DSLRs, I thought that the lens was pricey for no zoom, but the quality of the images are absolutely great. This gives new life to my old A100 camera.
I'm not a professional, and am still learning about photography, but this is a great lens to have. I first got a Tamrom zoom lens, which is great all-around, but this lens beats it on quality hands down. I can get really close to the subject, and still get great quality.
I've used this at night for photographing fireworks, and it actually worked well, since I could go all the way down to f/2.8 and use a faster shutter speed.
The focus limiter is nice, since the A100 has a bit of a problem focusing at times, and this helps it focus much better.

Awesome Macro Lens!
wow! i hardly ever take this off my camera! i can take a pic of bacteria with this thing! lol, seriously an awesome lens though, you can see very fine detail in the eyes of bugs with this lens.

SHARP, SHARP, SHARP!
This is a MUST HAVE glass for your Alpha system! I shoot this on an A700 and a KM 5D. Beside the 1.5x factor (which really makes this lens more like a 75mm) it is TACK SHARP. Whether you shoot macro or for general shooting for portraits. This glass is going to give you the sharpness you need, the color you wish for, and the depth in your subject. The only reservation i have for this glass is that it's a plastic body with a rubber focus ring, which the rubber will tend to get "old" as it ages. But don't get me wrong, it's a good build and never feels "cheap" in your hands. The focus on this is bearable but not super fast when you're in macro mode. Use the focus limiter button and it will surprise you how fast it can keep up even on the KM 5D. It's a prime glass piece! Pay for the price but you won't regret it!!!

Great product!!

I like the compression idea
The functionality of the tights is great. I've joined the compression craze and I think it really helps after hard workouts. I trained for an Ironman this year and always wore them after my long bikes or runs. The only problem with the pants is the fit in certain places. They didn't make any room in the crotch area for men and their equipment. I know that these are unisex, but I think they should probably design them so that men can get everything in there. Again, love the pants, but the design needs to be rethought.

Monday, March 30th, 2009Samsung PN50A650 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV with RED Touch of Color
Monday, March 30th, 2009This showed up in my Gold Box in December (this is written in April; I wanted a chance to live with it for a while). Gee, I wonder how Amazon knew I wanted this very TV? :-) Price was fantastic, and White Glove delivery was great; the only hang-up--it was chilly on delivery day, and the guy couldn't turn the set on to run down his checklist. No biggie, but it was hard to wait for the set to acclimate before getting the chance to turn it on. There aren't enough good things to say about it. Touch of color is very subtle and the clear band around the edge of the bezel is cool. After dialing back the settings for a break-in period (say what you will, I felt better doing it), I calibrated the set and am still amazed at the picture. High Def sources are excellent (over-the-air and U-Verse's HD signal). Even component 480p out of the DVD player looks great. No Blu-Ray yet; waiting for another Gold Box deal. The sound isn't world class, but I knew that going in and have a very nice amp and speakers for when it matters. Love this set--not like, love!

Teriffic 1080P HD Plazma TV
I have been using this TV for more than 6 months now. WOW, what a great TV and for a great price point. I researched and looked at many makes and models and after some reading reviews, I selected the this model and have never regretted it since. Very good picture quality.

Average
I got this TV when Circuit City was in it's final days. I kind of wish I hadn't bought it though. If you are looking to buy your first flat panel this TV will impress, but I own 3 and this one is probably the weakest one I have. I bought this TV to replace my Hitachi 42" plasma for my main TV room. My wife and I moved to a new house and the size of the room needed a bigger TV. Actually according to viewing standard I really need a 65" as we sit roughly 17' from the TV....but I can't afford that, but I wish!!! Things that annoy me with this TV are the incredibly slow boot time, and when I am viewing a channel that is letter-box by standard I change the picture size to "wide-fit" and there is a 1-2 inch vertical black line on the left of the screen. I actually think that is a defect that I need to talk with Samsung about. Going back to the boot time; it takes about 10-15 seconds from the time you punch the power button until you have picture and sound. My Hitachi is on all most instantly. I should point out that I'm using my Hitachi for comparison because they are both plasma technology. My third flat is LCD. feature wise the Samsung is average in connectors, and less than average in usless stuff. The info-link is kind of dumb I think. If I want to see the weather on my TV I will tune into the weather channel or just go online and get it, and the same goes for stocks and etc.. With my 2-1/2 year old Hictahi I got the same connections the ability to view photos via USB (but not with the cutesy environment of the Samsung) PLUS the TV is cable card ready (great for those wanting to loose the cable box) and it also has TV guide built in. For those that don't know this feature uses the coax cable to deliver channel line up and schedules for up to (I think) 8 days. It looks pretty much (and really better) like the on screen guide you get with the cable box. COOOOL!! THOSE are useful features and that TV is now 2-1/2, and seeing what you get 2 years later with Samsung is pretty weak. Even the ethernet connection is not able to automatically download new firmware upgrades...WHY? You still have to download it from their website to USB and load it. I figured by now these manufacturers would have incorporated a PC with DRV in the TV. God knows they can do it. Insted they invest in new technologies like OLED which is great if you want it thinner TV with the same features and a lot bigger price tag. After bailing on CRT's I'm perfectly content with the size of plasma/LCD. 3 stars.

Great HD TV at the fair price!
I bought this TV 2 months ago and have to say I made a right choice. At the time when I was looking for 50" HD TV, I had researched several different and much more expensive Panasonic models. What finally helped me to decide was the visit to the local TV store to see the difference between different sets. Unless you are looking for a TV to brag about how much you have spent, you will never be able to justify to cost difference of B0015PFUO0,000!
The picture quality will blow your mind and the Blu-Ray pictures will keep you glued to the screen of this TV... :-)
Last thing is the sound quality that is somewhat average. If you really want a superior sound quality, then this model will not deliver it to you: you will need to buy an extra sound system for the total experience to be perfect. But if you are like me, you would rather spend B0015PFUO0,000 less knowing that you will never be able to see a much of a difference as compared to much more expensive models.

Whistler PI-2000W Power Inverter
Sunday, March 29th, 2009The power leads supplied are short, and the location for connecting them to the inverter is too low to allow the terminals to clear a shelf or any flat surface, so the unit must hang over an edge or the terminals bent, or turned sideways.

Ok but doesn't deliver advertised wattage
This unit is a good inverter as long as you don't expect it to live up to the claimed surge capacity. I have used it to run a small cabin that is off grid with a very large battery bank (675 amp hours, trojan t-105s). I also have a 3000 watt generator with a surge capacity of 3500 watts will run the cabin just fine, but is noisy so I don't like to use it. When this inverter is asked to surge to accommodate the demands of the well pump, the inverter goes into overload mode and shuts down. Running routine loads in the range of 500-1000 watts has not been a problem and the electronic lcd display of watts, battery voltage, and output voltage is nice. Just don't expect to get anywhere near 4000 watt surge capacity if that is what you really need. I guess you get what you pay for.

Somewhat satisfied
The product worked pretty good. It just couldn't keep up with the refrigerator on the car battery. Probably refrigerator is too big.
